Hello Pioneers! This is Mr. Boyles with few important announcements.
The first day of school for students is tomorrow. We look forward to seeing all those smiling faces. Students are allowed to arrive on campus beginning at 7:15 am. No supervision will be provided before that time. The school day begins at 7:40 and students will be counted tardy after that time. All car riders should use the bus lot for drop off pulling all the way up to the end of the sidewalk or as far as possible in order to drop the maximum amount of students off and for the line to flow smoothly. Do not pass cars at all in the morning or afternoon car line. Only kindergarten parents are allowed to walk students to class and only on their staggered day. All others should use the car rider line. Dismissal is at 2:20 pm. Please line up single file with your student name placard in plain view in your window as indicated in your orientation meetings using spaces 1-6 to pick up children. Please be patient as we iron out our procedures the first little bit. Please understand that traffic at the intersection of Hobe Kiser Rd. and NC HWY 66 will be congested, especially during peak drop-off and pick-up times. Please be safe, and follow instructions from the Stokes County Sheriff's Deputy in the mornings.
We ask that students be at their designated bus stops, supervised, 10-15 minutes prior to the given time in order to give our drivers time to narrow down their routes the first week or so. Also, a reminder that students in grades K-3 must have someone present at the afternoon bus stop in order to be dropped off the bus.
Please return any papers to your child's teacher this week in order for us to make sure your child has everything they need.
Make sure you are connected to your child's ClassDojo to stay up to date on communication with teachers. Please reach out to your teacher or the office if you still need to be connected to ClassDojo.
We are looking forward to a great first two days of school!
Thank you for your support of Poplar Springs Elementary. Have a blessed week!
Go Pioneers!
